Hospital Addition/Renovation

This procurement is for the solicitation of a Hospital Addition/Alteration located at Langley Air Force Base, VA. Project consists of the construction of 145,000 square foot multi-story addition and an option for the renovation of 25,000 square fee t of the existing facility. New building will be a three story steel frame structure on piles. Exterior will be constructed of brick veneer with cast stone details over metal studs. Roof will be in general built-up, but will also include a standing seam metal roof. Existing building will be refaced with a brick veneer and new window frames. Heating and cooling sources will be hot and chilled water coming from the existing central plant. Central plant renovation includes the replacement of the 167-ton chiller, the steam boilers, and the associated equipment. Building control system will be DDC controls. A medical gas system will serve the addition. Electrical system will consist of a 4000 amp, 480y/277v, 3-phase, 4-wire double-ended switchboard. Selection criteria for this Best Value Procurement will be provided in the Request for Proposal. The Government reserves the right to reject any or all proposals prior to award: to negotiate with any or all proposers: to award the contract to other than the lowest price: and to award to the proposer submitting the proposal determined by the Government to be the most advantageous to the Government.

The receipt date for proposals is April 4, 2006. The magnitude of construction is estimated to be between $45 and $50 mil lion. THIS IS AN UNRESTRICTED PROCUREMENT.
