Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment and supervision necessary for the renovation of the rehabilitation area as required by Bid Item 1. Work shall include general construction, demolition, alterations, mechanical and electrical work necessary to complete the renovations and shall be in strict accordance with the terms, conditions, specifications and drawings of the solicitation. In addition, the specifications and drawings will include two (2) bid items deducting work from Bid Item 1. BID ITEM I: The contractor shall provide all necessary tools, labor, materials, equipment, permits, license and
supervision for "Renovate Rehab Space", Project Number 544-05-112, located at the W.J.B. Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, South Carolina, in accordance with the drawings and specifications. Work includes but is not limited to general demolition, general construction, plumbing, HVAC and electrical (construction time frame for Bid Item 1 is 480 calendar days). BID ITEM 2: Perform all work as described in Bid Item 1 except delete work associated with removal and abatement of vinyl asbestos tile, as indicated in drawings and specifications (construction time frame for Bid Item 2 is 480 calendar days). BID ITEM 3: Perform all work as described in Bid Item 2 except delete work associated with Phase 4, as indicated in drawings and specifications (construction time frame for Bid Item 3 is 390 calendar days). ALL WORK SHALL BE PERFORMED AT THE WJB DORN MEDICAL CENTER, 6439 Garners Ferry Road, Columbia, SC 29202-1639 and shall be performed pursuant to all local, state and federal regulations. One (1) pre-bid site visit is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at 10:00 am, Building 20 (Engineering Conference Room). It is highly recommended that all interested parties attend this pre-bid site visit. DO NOT CONTACT THE CONTRACTING OFFICER TO ARRANGE SITE VISITS. Cost range is between $500,000 to $1,000,000.

This solicitation is 100% Set-Aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business concerns. The applicable NAICS ccode is 236220 with a size standard of $28.5 million.

NO HARD COPIES OF THE SOLICITATION OR DRAWINGS WILL BE PROVIDED. IN ADDITION, THERE ARE THIRTY-THREE DRAWINGS which must also be downloaded by potential bidders.
