Default Demolition & Construction of Existing Visiting Room

PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE: The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office, Grand Prairie, Texas, plans to issue IFB-TRM-0004 for the construction of a new and the demolition/remodeling of an existing visiting room which consists of furninshing all labor, equipment and materials at the Federal Correctional Institution located at Terminal Island, California. The work includes but is not limited to the following: phased construction of approximately 14,000 square feet of a new two story visiting room, offices, miscellaneous use rooms and restrooms. Reinforced masonry walls, concrete and steel floors and roof, piled foundations, over excavation and replacement of sub-grade soils, built up roof, electrical service, telephone, security, fire alarm and sprinkler systems, CCTV, sewer, water, storm drain, demolition of existing visiting room/remodeling of offices and restrooms and new security fencing. The magnitude of this project is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The solicitation will be available on or about October 13, 2005, with an anticipated bid opening date of November 16, 2005, 2:00 pm local time. The solicitation will be distributed solely through the General Services Administrations Federal Business Opportunities website http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Hard copies of the solicitation will NOT be available. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information about this solicitation, including solicitation amendments, will also be distributed solely through this site. Faith-based and Community-based organizations can submit offers/bids/quotations equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. This is a 100% small business set-aside.
