4 Buildings at Joint Warfare Assessment Laboratory
This is a solicitation for the design and construction of an addition to the existing Joint Warfare Assessment Laboratory (JWAL), Bldg 544, at the Warfare Center located in Corona, California. This project will be located on the SE side of the JWAL and will construct a two-story steel-framed modular structure with level II security requirements throughout. Modular internal offices will consist of four to seven cubicles rather than open “bull-pen” type layout. The exterior walls will match the exterior appearance of the existing JWAL.
The roof construction will be clay tile around the perimeter, matching the slope and finish material of the existing JWAL. Built-in equipment includes elevator and projection screens. Special construction features include modular construction with raised access flooring with under floor electrical, data, comm., and HVAC distribution. Electrical systems include electrical distribution system, fire alarms, energy saving electronic monitoring and control system (EMCS), and information systems. Mechanical systems include plumbing, fire protection systems, heating ventilation and air conditioning. Supporting facilities work includes site and building utility connections (water, sanitary and storm sewers, electrical, telephone, Local Area Networks (LAN), and Cable Television (CATV)).
This project will demolish existing Buildings 543, 522, 523, and 808 (4,226 M2). An existing underground storage tank (UST) will be replaced with an above ground storage tank (AST). The building will be a permanent structure with a projected useful life span of 50 years.
