Default Asbestos Abatement - Olathe, Kansas

Project includes asbestos abatement; and upgrading the lighting, fire protection and building finishes in the Administrative Wing of the Air Route Traffic Control Center in Olathe, KS. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1) Remove and dispose of all friable and non-friable asbestos containing material (ACM), and lead in accordance with all local, state and federal regulations. 2) ACM removal shall include but is not limited to the carpet, floor-tile and mastic, vestibule ceiling, mechanical duct and insulation, and fan coil pipe and insulation. The mastic on the fan coil pipes and duct insulation shall be treated as ACM. 3) Remove the Polychlorinated Biphenylis (PCBs) light ballast and fluorescent lamps and turn them over to the FAA Facility Environmental and Safety Specialist for disposal. This contractor shall coordinate the disposal with the COTR/RE. 4) Remove and dispose of the existing metal partition wall systems, utility chase wall, suspended ceiling, doors, fan coil units, piping, electrical conduit, electrical outlets, electrical circuits, light fixtures, and plumbing. 5) Furnish and install new wall systems, doors and frames, suspended ceiling, light fixtures, floor and wall tile, electrical conduit, electrical outlets, electrical circuits, and carpet. 6) Furnish and install new halogen lights. 7) Furnish and install a wet-pipe sprinkler system. 8) Furnish and install the items needed to relocate the existing addressable fire alarm system components. 9) Furnish and install a 2-pipe system for the fan coil units on the first and second floor of the office area portion of the administrative wing; and a 4-pipe system for the fan coil units in the cafeteria. 10) Furnish and install plumbing between the basement and the first floor restrooms. 11) Furnish and install ductwork and accessories for the basement and first floor. 12) Fire stop penetrations generated during the construction of the project. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT short Term receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
