RACO Industries announces the Yard Director(TM) Yard Management System (YMS), designed to deliver instant return-on-investment and provide state of the art efficiency, asset visibility, compliance and controls for trucking yard operations. Through real-time tracking and reporting by mobile scanners and a web based application, security, driver and yard management staff can locate and track critical information about each vehicle that enters a facility including temperature, fuel, mileage, and detention alerts.
Yard Director(TM) YMS is designed from the ground up to be a simple, modular, extensible web-based application. This design reduces long-term administrative costs and ensures flexibility in the choice of hardware platforms. Yard Director(TM) supports both 802.11 a/b/g and iDEN/GPRS/EDGE wireless terminals. It is easy and inexpensive to customize to different
specific business processes using web services and XML. and it can be up and running in days, not weeks!
Yard Director(TM) supports email alerts that are triggered when user defined thresholds are crossed. For example, if the temperature of a refrigerated trailer goes above 32' degrees, Yard Director(TM) will send an email alert to users whose user profiles indicate they should receive that alert. On-site administrators can configure the alert thresholds through the web based administration console in Yard Director and new alert types can be custom tailored to each unique business.
With Yard Director(TM), security logs all plant ingress and egress with wireless hand-held scanners, and optionally generates a bar coded YMS tag using a wireless printer for each vehicle, which can be used to speed and simplify vehicle identification. This provides complete control over all vehicles in the yard and their status.
