Default Tool Burglary Ring Busted By Police

A raid on a Philadelphia warehouse uncovered construction equipment believed stolen in as many as 100 burglaries across the city. Investigators are now trying to determine how many were victimized by the contractor burglary ring.

Police said the tools, worth over $100-thousand, were stolen from all over the city. Officers raided a Kensington warehouse Wednesday.

Investigators said one suspect was arrested after concerned citizen Greg Terinoni setup surveillance cameras and tipped off police.

Footage from the tapes showed two men with a white van breaking into a storage facility and stealing tools that are the life blood of area contractors.

“There was working men out of work now because they had no tools to go make money,” said Terinoni.

When Terinoni saw the suspects, he said he called 911 and began pursuit of their white van.

Terioni said the chase reached speeds of 90 mph and at one point the suspects allegedly struck his pickup truck.

After the chase, officials said the suspects, one of which is 46-year-old John Perri, were taken into custody.

“I think he helped out a lot of people who were victimized by this crew,” said Lt. John Walker of the Philadelphia Police.

Now police are faced with the task of finding the owners of the heisted tools. Officials said they will be put on display sometime next week.
