Anyone else have a New Dimension Crusher Attachment?

Hello there everyone. I'm new here! Didn't even know this site existed until today when I was searching for hammer attachments for my bobcat.

I'm wondering if anyone else here owns a New Dimension Crushers attachment like mine? I just barely got mine this past week so I'm pretty new to running it. If you are not familiar with them, it is a crusher attachment for skidsteers that will take up to 6" X 3' material and output 2" minus.

I bought it because I bought a property that had once been used as a dumping site by the city when they did road improvements throught the city so we have lots of concrete and asphalt material to get rid of and its cheaper to crush it up and then reuse the material than to haul it off and pay the landfill fees. We are also in a residential and commercial zone so the city won't let us bring in a full size crusher so this was our only option.

It works pretty well although it will take some time to crush up the equivelant of probably 2-300 truckloads of crap that I have!!!!

If anyone wants to check out what they are like, the company that makes them has a website at New Dimension Crushers, LLC. Rock Crushers and has a video link on their site showing it in action. I can say that it works pretty much as shown on their site!

Hopefully there are some other people here with one that can give me some more tips on running it efficiently.....I got lotsa stuff to get rid of!!!!

I would real like to to know how these buckets work? what kind of production are you getting out of it? Are you getting a usable product out of it?

Did you go to the company site and watch the video clip they have there? Its pretty accurate. As long as you are using material input that is properly sized for the machine, it works very well. Occassionally I will get too much material in a bucket load and it will wedge together and not work well. The material has to be able to float around freely in between the bucket and the roller or else crushing doesn't happen very well.

what kind of production are you getting out of it?

So far I am pretty new at using it so I am sure I am pretty slow. According to the manufacturer, seasoned operators have production rates of up to 10 tons per hour. I'm sure I am getting maybe half of that at this point.

Are you getting a usable product out of it

The product comes out a 2 inch minus crushed material with very little in the way of fines...just a nice gravel. Mostly what I am crushing right now is old concrete and a little bit of asphalt.

I plan to stockpile it on site in my development project and use it for underslab fill for basement slabs, driveways, patios, etc. We have a lot of multifamily and commercial buildings to do here over the next several years and this will take care of a lot of our needs without having to import much other than just some pea gravel on top to clean up a little. Just depends on when I have enough time to spend over there doing it. I am the developer/general contractor on the project....so I just spend a little time when I have the time doing it now and will pile it up in one corner of the project for the excavator to use.

I went to there site but it's hard to tell the final product. What kind of skid steer are you using? Are you using a hammer to break down the material?

I'll take some pictures and post them of what I am getting. The first little bit is a little rough because I am still learning how it all works but I spent a couple hours working on it today and got some nice looking stuff.

I do not have a hammer yet....but I have lots of material that is already sized just fine for this unit. Also have a lot that is too big and I will need a hammer to break it up into more manageable pieces. I'll be looking into a hammer in the next little bit. Local rental yard doesn't even have one!!!!

I have a 2005 Bobcat S250 with Gold Package.

Well....I won't be giving much of an update with pictures from todays work!!! I went over this morning and fueled up....and the bobcat died on me!!!

I knew this was coming and I've just been putting off getting it to the dealer to fix the problem until it got to this point because my dealer is two hours away!!!

For a year now I've had a code that keeps popping up that shuts down the controls to the lift arm and bobtach hydraulics. "ACS" is the light the keeps coming on on the panel and shutting everything down. It used to be that it would happen occassionally and randomly and if you shut the machine down and let it sit for a minute and then fire it back up it would be ok for a while.

I called the dealer who explained what it was and he said it was an most likely the actuator going bad and it would get worse until it goes completely out. The past few weeks it has been happening more and more often until today it is totally gone!!!

This sucks!!! I've got new attachments sitting here and no machine to use them on. At least I'm not in the middle of a job for a client and have them pissed at me. I guess we'll load up on friday and drop the machine off and go visit grandma for the weekend!!!

Bob, I was happy to be able to demo for a potential client for you. They seemed really happy with the end product and it wouldn't suprise me if they ended up calling to buy one. It would also be great to get H & E Equipment set up as a dealer out here!!! Good Luck.
