Komatsu America Corp. (KAC) announces the PC09-1 compact hydraulic excavator for contractors in a variety of construction, utility, landscaping and other applications. The PC09-1 offers comfort, and high productivity in a compact package, and is ideal for operating in confined areas.

Special features of the PC09-1 include:

The PC09-1 offers operators a comfortable environment despite the machine's small size. Komatsu designed the machine with ample foot space, and reduced noise during operation.

o Productivity
The PC09-1 with its compact design, foldable canopy, and expandable undercarriage (2 ft. 4 in. to 2 ft. 10 in) is well suited for a variety of jobs. By retracting the undercarriage the PC09-1 is able to pass through doorways. When expanded, the undercarriage provides additional stability when excavating. Its triple flanged bottom track rollers aid in machine stability when traveling or excavating by maintaining at least two points of contact between the track lug and roller. The PC09-1 has an operating weight of 1,985 lb. and a dig depth of 5 ft. 6 in when equipped with the long arm. An optional 75 ft. lb breaker arm provides the operator with increased versatility by allowing the operator to break through concrete without removing the bucket.

Casting on the boom foot and tip, a one piece cast iron frame, and a one piece steel engine cover provide added strength and durability. Hydraulic lines are run through the boom for added protection. The Komatsu engine meets EPA emissions requirements without sacrificing power or efficiency. The 2-cylinder engine is rated at 8.7 HP @ 2,200 RPM and provides outstanding, fuel efficient performance and features and automatic air bleeding system in the event the machine should run out of fuel.

The engine hood opens fully for outstanding access to daily checkpoints. Track tension is adjusted quickly and easily using a grease gun and O-Ring face seal hydraulic fittings and connectors dramatically improve reliability. Additionally, the PC09-1 has extended greasing and service intervals making it easier to schedule maintenance.
