Default New Millermatic® 180 with Auto-Set the Simplest, Most Powerful Welder in its Class

Carried over from the well accepted Millermatic® 140 with Auto-Set(TM) Miller Electric Mfg. Co. has now added the revolutionary Auto-Set feature to its 180-amp category machine. The new Millermatic® 180 with Auto-Set(TM) is the simplest to use, most powerful machine in its class.

"The Auto-Set feature is very popular with the owners of the Millermatic 140 with Auto-Set, our 115-V machine," says Jon Ertmer, Product Manager, Miller Electric Mfg. Co. "Many enthusiasts told us they wanted a machine with the Auto-Set feature but they needed the extra welding output of a 230-V machine." The new Millermatic 180 with Auto-Set gives you both. It runs off 230 V, giving the user the capability to weld from 24 gauge up to a class-leading 5/16-in. mild steel in a single pass.

If you are unfamiliar with the Auto-Set feature, here is how it works. Auto-Set is designed to work on mild steel using C25 gas (75% Argon, 25% CO2.)

Knowing this, set-up cannot be any simpler:

1. Select the wire diameter (either .023" or .030".)

2. Set the machine to the material thickness being welded (Miller even provides a free material thickness gauge to check it with!)

3. Start Welding! The machine is automatically set to the proper voltage and wire feed speed for the job.

In the instances where Auto-Set cannot be used, the manual mode still exists. In manual mode the Millermatic 180 Auto-Set is set-up like any other MIG machine. The user sets the voltage and wire feed speed according to the provided parameter chart.

A great new accessory for the Millermatic 180 with Auto-Set is Miller's new Spoolmate(TM) 100 Series spool gun. The Spoolmate 100 Series is the simple and economical solution for aluminum welding on all Millermatic 140s and 180s. Hooked up to a Millermatic 180 with Auto-Set, the Spoolmate 100 Series can weld from 18 gauge through Ľ" aluminum, perfect for most any do-it-yourself job.

Both the Millermatic 180 with Auto-Set and the Spoolmate 100 Series are available at welding supply distributors. To find your nearest distributor, or for more information on either product, visit www.MillerWelds.com.

With headquarters in Appleton, Wis., Miller Electric Mfg. Co. is a leading worldwide manufacturer of Miller arc welding equipment and related systems for metalworking, construction, maintenance and other applications. Miller Electric is a wholly owned subsidiary of Illinois Tool Works Inc. (ITW), Glenview, Ill. ITW is a diversified multinational manufacturer of highly engineered components, assemblies and systems.

That's a nice unit. I have an older 140 at the house and it works like a champ.
