Default A new powerful member of the Brokk family

Brokk AB, the worlds leading manufacturer of remote controlled demolition machines introduces a new member of the Brokk family at Bauma this year. Brokk 50 – small but powerful. This new machine is tailor-made for various controlled demolition applications in confined spaces, effectively being able to do the work of 6 – 8 men with manual tools, increasing project profitability.

The Brokk 50 is the smallest of the models in the Brokk family and replaces the Brokk 40. It is small enough to easily get through doorways a mere 60 cms wide. It can operate effectively in the most constricted of spaces e.g. in bathrooms, toilets and cellar crannies, including spaces too small for manual labor. Despite its small size the electric driven Brokk 50 is very powerful. This remote controlled machine has been developed in response to customers demand for a machine that can reduce personal injuries in working areas, replacing handheld tools for light demolition work. The machine can be equipped with a range of different attachments which makes the Brokk 50 very effective for a wide range of different uses.

“We have kept the compact measurements from the Brokk 40 and designed a more powerful machine in the Brokk 50 to optimize the total efficiency of demolition and hence the profitability of our customers business” says Per Waldemarsson, managing director, Brokk AB.

Advantages with the Brokk 50:

• Small and flexible to maneuver in minimal spaces.
• Easy to move from one working site to the next as it can be transported on a trailer.
• Easy to transport in ordinary lifts or be maneuvered up and down stair cases.
• Fitted with a 5,5 kW powerful electric motor.
• Effective arm system which is fast, powerful and precise.
• New strong tailor made hydraulic breaker with the power of 100 J.
• Fast and easy change of attachments without any manual lifts, 1 person can change an attachment in two minutes.
• Outperforms other machines and manual labor in small cramped spaces with low headroom in both efficiency, speed and profitability

Replaces hand-held tools for more profit and more safety

The Brokk 50 is remote controlled meaning that the operator can work from a safe and secure position, while maintaining an excellent view of the place where the breaking is done for precision and maximum efficiency. The operator is not exposed to vibration injuries or falling debris and can maintain excellent precision and control of the work from the control box. When the Brokk 40 saw daylight for the first time 1996 it quickly proved its value.

The latest model makes life even easier for the operator and the machine is even more profitable for the owner.

Even the European Union has noticed Brokk in connection to its new safety directives. These directives dictate how long a person is allowed to work with a jackhammer to avoid vibration exposure and so-called “white finger syndrome”. Previously many countries have not had specific regulations in this area, so even if many demolition entrepreneurs have understood the advantages of Brokks early, new legislation drives the industry on and makes Brokk machines an increasingly important demolition tool, not only for profitability but also for health and safety reasons. Since 1996 Brokk has sold more than 220 units of its smallest machine in Sweden alone, and over 520 globally. This number is expected to increase dramatically in the near future considering the capacity and power of the Brokk 50.

Effective in demolition

The Brokk 50 is a small sized and effective machine that can replace 6 – 8 people working with jackhammers. Its productivity is comparable to a 1,5 tons mini-excavator, a 2-3 times heavier machine. This new machine is best used together with another new tailor-made product, the Atlas Copco breaker SB 52, a breaker designed specifically for Brokk to optimize performance and reduce maintenance. The SB 52 has around double the hitting power of the breaker used on the Brokk 40, the SB 50.

Applications

The little demolition robot Brokk 50 is perfect for different kinds of work in the construction industry but is also used in the process- and nuclear industries. In the construction industry the robot is used for different kinds of demolition work both indoors and outdoors, such as bathroom refitting, balcony demolitions and general demolition in confined spaces.

Typical application areas in the process industries include the cleaning of small ladles and furnaces in smelting industries, decoating and debricking in small kilns, and other heavy duty work in harsh environments in restricted spaces. In the nuclear industry important applications are the sorting of dangerous material and fuel pieces, as well as general remote-controlled demolition of contaminated structures. Other applications are being developed and shared continuously – since Brokk machines basically are strong and robust carriers of heavy tools the only limits regarding applications are those set by the imagination!

Comparison between the Brokk 40 and the Brokk 50

Brokk AB has tested the new Brokk 50 against the older Brokk 40 to understand the relative capacity of the new machine. This test has proven that the new machine will definitively have a market and make the change from manual labour to Brokk even more profitable.

Comparing the Brokk 50 to the old version Brokk the result was very clear after only 5 minutes. We demonstrated that the new Brokk 50 demolition machine is approximately 3 times as efficient as the former Brokk 40. “This machine will not only break concrete but will also break open totally new markets for Brokk and our customers”says a delighted Lars Burström, responsible designer at Brokk AB.

Default welcome to the future!

man i'm so sure this BROKK 50 will spank our BROKK 40 10-1, without a problem!
the TEX60 hammer on the 40 is nothing compared to the new A-C SB52...
I have been thinking about trading in our 40 for a new 50, but there is one catch! WEIGHT!! this is the place where the 40 still is way better than th new 50!
we are doing quite much demolition up high on building rack's(? the metall things you use on buildin facade and balcony renovation). most of the rack's have a higest allowed weight, that just allows usage of the 380kg BROKK 40, and the 50 weights almost 500kg...

but i cant wait untill we get our hands on one!
the 4 support legs will be a state of art, compared to the dozer blade joke on the 40
