Default Atlas Copco Opens Regional Service Center in Denver

Atlas Copco Construction Tools LLC announces the opening of a new regional service center in Denver, Colo. The new facility is the third such Atlas Copco service center in the United States, joining established centers in Cleveland, Ohio, and Austin, Texas.

The new site provides Atlas Copco with an excellent logistical location to provide timely service to end users of hydraulic breaker attachments and other heavy hydraulic products in the western United States.

The company has hired Ron Brooks as service center manager for the Denver location. Brooks previously held the position of locomotive general foreman at Union Pacific Railroad and has 12 years of experience working in the heavy machinery and service management industry.

“Our service centers keep us closer to our product,” said Brooks. “We have constant interaction dealing with real service issues. This gives both our distributors and customers competent service they can truly depend on.”

In addition to a fully equipped workshop, the center has a dedicated service truck —including an 8,000-pound crane — available to offer assistance with new equipment setup or maintenance in the field. The Denver location places trained Atlas Copco technicians within a day’s drive of West Coast customers.

Atlas Copco will also utilize the Denver service center as an outlet to sell products directly to end users. “Previously we did not have adequate service or sales representation for heavy hydraulics in the Colorado region,” said Matt Cadnum, Atlas Copco’s vice president of sales-aftermarket. “Our presence in Denver not only provides service convenience and a new sales channel, but should offer a certain comfort level for distributors who would like to initiate business with us.”

Services offered at the new center will include field maintenance, machine adjustments, operator training, immediate parts availability, service contracts and agreements, and practical application training for both customers and distributors.

Standard procedures at the Denver service center will follow the model established at Atlas Copco’s Ohio and Texas locations. This includes offering maintenance and service for products produced by competing manufacturers.

“In order to develop relationships with distributors and customers, it’s important for them to know that you have their back,” said Keith Becker, Atlas Copco’s national service manager. “We want to be easily accessible when someone needs training, service or a new product. And the Denver center will keep us close to the action.”
