A High reach mini excavator…....Yep!

PMI exhibited a modified ‘high reach’ mini excavator at last week’s SAIE show in Bologna, Italy. The addition of an extended boom gave the Doosan SK35 a maximum pin height of 7.1 m, and the machine has been bought by demolition contractor Despe.

It looks a little goofy but I can already think of places that would have come in handy. Nice.

It would be nice when you have to reach across a shaft and hammer out walls like in Grain elevators.

Hitachi makes a factory version of a high reach mini but is only available in Japan. I looked into getting one to mount my rock drill on to have mor reach and height. Right now I am looking into a Pc-78 with a custom boom (2 piece boom and extended stick) for the rock drill application.

That's pretty neat! I was thinking that with a small processor attachment it would be great for tight mill/industrial strip out where a larger bodied machine would be hard to fit.

Now that looks like a decent machine. I could also think of some great places to use these. I wonder if these will become available in the US soon.

This machine is MUST HAVE rated! it could really be handy when the reach of the BROKK robots is not enough any more!
but i'm not so sure about putting a hammer on it...
