Tools, Equipment, & AttachmentsHave you heard about the latest tool or piece of equipment? Do you have any favorites? Whether it's hydraulic, air, electrical, or mechanical that uses grapples, hammers, shears or wrecking balls, you can talk about all of it here.
We are looking at buying another skid steer and due to the local "Bobcat" dealership in the northwest’s (continued worst case repair charges). I am considering other machines. What is everyone else using? Your feed back is appreciated.
Out of 300 registered "Demolition" people, I cant get an opinion skidsteers? Oh thats right everyone else owns a 160' reach high and I am the only clown using a skidsteer.Wait a minute, I know.........its a "trade secret" yaaaa thats the ticket..........................
Well my first thought was to write a post something along these lines “Cant someone besides a fella with a rubber tracked, no grapple, Case driving, tree hugger answer this?” But I didn’t think that would be objective. And no, I don’t want to hear about the chicken coup you pushed over last year either. Dig Dug, Tell me why Case is a good machine, That’s what I want to know. Are the axle seals protected from flex duct wire? Is the radiator out of the way of conduit harpoons, Is the operators visibility great when you have the arms overhead pulling down plaster mesh ceilings and the quick couplers not being drug into the mess when there pointed skyward? That’s the kinda stuff I want to know, I’ve only run Bobcat skid steers and know nothing about other equipment so the Beevis and Buthead response I got from you does no one any good.
I think one of the reasons your not getting to many answers is because most demolition contractors I know all run Bobcats. Most are running 763, 863, A300 AWS and the mini 463. I don’t think I have seen too many of them running anything else. Bobcats just seem to be the demo contractor’s choice of machine.
I run a John Deere 250II skid steer have used on demo jobs mostly for clean up. I have only good things to say about it. It has great visibility due to the arm configuration. Great lifting power and height. I have done some pretty impressive things with it and would get a nother one with out thinking twice. I have run Bobcat, Cat, Komatsu, Case, Gehl, Thomas, Scattrack and Tackauchi for me John Deere has worked out great.
Just got the time to post on this; I'm still using an old school 763 bobcat(see avatar), heck I can't keep up with all the new model numbers. I am thinking about one of the new tracked ones though, how do they hold up in the varied crap we run in on a demo site?
