Default First Doosan Daewoo DX420 demolition excavator delivered

The first Doosan Daewoo DX420 demolition excavator to be seen in Europe has been delivered to UK contractor and plant rental company Thomas Crompton, based in Bradford. The new machine has a pin height of 26.4 m (86.7 ft) and a maximum outreach of 14 m (46 ft).

Powered by a Doosan DV11 direct injection diesel, using common rail fuel injection, that delivers 218 kW (293 hp) at 1,800 rpm, the whole package weighs in at 47.5 tonnes. The demolition boom can be easily replaced by a standard earthmoving boom in about 15 minutes, claims Doosan, without the operator leaving the cab.

A tilting cab and hydraulic extending undercarriage are fitted as standard. The undercarriage system extends track width from 3 m (9.8 ft) for ease of transportation to just over 4 m (13.1 ft) for maximum stability while working.

Crompton has also taken delivery of a special Nooteboom trailer designed to transport the excavator and its demolition rig – the excavator and trailer represent a total investment of Euro 0.74 million (US$0.95 million).
