Exclamation On Site Concrete & Asphalt Recycling

Many contractors are chosing to have concrete & asphalt recycled on site for use as back fill or base material rather than paying to haul away and dump this material. This will lower your transport and waste costs as well as reduce your need of new base or fill material. There are many options open to recycle asphalt and concrete. Typically horizontal shaft impact crushers are used for crushing the asphalt or concrete. Jaw crushers can also be used but the end product size will typically be larger than that of in impact crusher.

Most impact crushers will produce a 3" minus on the first pass. A Jaw crusher might be 5" minus or more. The advantage of a impact crusher is that you can recirculate material to make as small as 1" minus (anything less typically requires to much recirculation to be economical). It is not recommended to recirculate on a jaw crusher.

Capacities range from 150 tons per hour to 300+ tons per hour

As for Costs: You can rent or buy impact crushers, typically they are rented on a monthly basis but you can find some to rent for only 2 week jobs.
