Default Radioactive Soil Remediation

This is interesting. The Japanese have discovered that the Rape plant can clean soils of any radioisotope contamination. A Japanese NPO has been planting rape seeds and harvesting the plant at Chernobyl which is cleaning up the soil so other crops can be planted and be free of contamination.
The Canadians genetically modifed the rape plant and the seeds can be processed into Canadian Oil or more frequently known as Canola Oil.

An interesting factoid is that during WWII due to the scarcity of Petroleum oil the US government used Canola oil to lubricate their ships.

It also makes a decent biodiesel.

Another nice thing is that Canola can be used as a replacement for hydraulic fluid. If you have a hydraulic line break it's not a reportable incident with Canola oil but it is with hydraulic fluid.
