Default Breaking News, why so long?

Is it just me, but why do news cast seem to have Breaking News on their screens 5-8 hours after the event, isn’t it just news then?

That is something that never made any sense to me.

I also get a kick out of it when the news comes out with some 30 second blurb at 9 P.M. like "Murderer on the loose. Details at 11"
I am thinking like "Where is the guy?? Is he in my backyard or what????"

Good one wreck,
There is the other thing that bothers me too, 20 minutes of news 10 minutes of weather, and 2 minutes of sports

Well, mostly football. I have pretty much lost interest in baseball. With the talk of steroids and crap, I have lost interest. Will I watch a game every once in awhile sure, but I don't follow it like I used to. I used to be a stats junkie.
