Default Digital Camera recommendations

Well after a couple of years my digital camera has crapped out. I am looking for a new one. Anybody have any suggestions? I don’t need anything fancy just something that takes good pictures and is easy to use. Looking for something 3.1 mp or larger. Looking to spend around $300-$500.

James,
I like the Canon Powershot. It pretty much does everything you need it to do. It is a little larger than some digital cameras but I prefer that because if a camera is too small I tend to misplace it.

Ditto on the Canon, its easy to use and for those of us who are all thumbs and tend to get them in the pictures, its big enough to see what you're doing with it.

I had an Olympus and loved it , but now I guess I am going to have to look at the Canon one. 3 replies all Canons, they must be doing something right.

The SD series is a little bit smaller than the ones that use compact flash cards but the pix are fantastic.

in the $300-$500 range you will find some AWESOME cameras

the CCDs are much cleared than they were when you bought you last camera ith easily 4 X the resolution

actually much more than $300 is frivolous

the Canon A700 is a 6Mp camera that you will love and newegg has it for $315 including shipping...

Cannon A700

James,
I'm a reformed Olympusholic. I've taken thousands with my old Oly...my wife uses a Canon EOS 20D. Almost 8 frames per second and great resolution. No video though, only digital pics with 20 mega pixs...great buy at about $2,800.00US!

Blast1,

I love Olympus also. I have a 35mm from Olympus and I love it. My wife's family all have Olympus digitials also. So I am still looking at both the Canons and Olympus.

20megs!!! WOW!!
