Default Refrigerated Beach

It shouldn't be too suprising in the land of the indoor ski resort, but the Pallazzo Versace Hotel in Dubai is building a refrigerated beach so people won't burn their feet.
I guess it is too much to ask somebody to just wear flip flops.

With oil prices so low, it seems that many of the construction projects are "frozen" in Dubai and elsewhere in the Emirates. They are flat out of dough in many cases, unable to even pay the rental fees on the cranes that were brought in to do the construction.

I thought that was the whole point of going to the beach, was to burn the bottoms of your feet.

This is one of my favorite buildings. Not so much because it is so screwy and 18 degrees out of plumb, but because they poured over 6,000 CY of concrete for the foundation in 24 hours. I think it was 850 trucks.
