It’s pretty interesting; in the State of Washington the legislators are trying to pass a new law about banning people from texting from their cell phones while driving.
There are people that are actually fighting this!
My questions is why would you text while driving? Are you guilty of this? I have never texted while driving, using my cell phone, well that is another question.
I just read an article in the newspaper about this subject ans was suprised to find out that more automobile fatalities are caused by cell phones than are caused by drunk driving.
It creates something of a liability concern for employers.
One of the reasons for this legislation is due to there was a serious accident where the driver who cause the crash was text messaging and wasn’t paying attention and took out 5 cars on the freeway.
I guess what is worse is they just released that study the other day about teenagers and driving and they were saying that more accidents are cause by them text-ting or talking on the phone.
I have a friend of mine who is in charge of hiring interns for a big ad agency. He is appalled at the number of prospective interns who are incapable of writng a grammatically correct full sentence. They are so used to texting shorthand that it has interferred with their ability to write.
It's also freaking annoying to be at a lunch or a meeting where there is a serial texter. It's like holding crack in front of a junky. I guess I'm too old or have too big thumbs but I can't text fast enough to reply to most people.
I know that feeling. I thought it was bad when you were meeting with people and the phone rang, now you have to deal with them constantly texting, which to me they are paying more attention to their “crackberry” then they are our meeting.
I fixed that problem. I bought a cell phone jammer. It fits into a shirt pocket and jams all cellular devices within 75 feet. It's banned by the FCC but this site is squirrely when it comes to cellphone reception anyway.
I also use it at the baseball game. An attorney has the box seats right behind mine and constantly talked loudly on his cellphone all game long. I fixed that
That's a cruel joke. But at the same time, I hate going to games and having people talk on the cell phones while the game is going on.
I went to a game last year and the gal in front of me was on the phone the entire time, what's the point of going to the game if your just gonna blab all game?
