Steve Irwin, killed by a Stingray

Yeah he was kind of annoying and sometimes he was a little crazy. But, I really thought he was invincible. My son loved him.

May he rest in peace.

My daughter is crushed, she went as The Croc Hunter for Halloween one year with my then four year old son as the croc.

Amazing only 17 people have ever been killed by a stingray, of those only 2 in Australia.

I took my kids to the Montereay Bay aquarium and they were in the petting tank, the kids got a kick out of touching them. Their barbs may have been removed though.

There are stories out there that people are killing rays in Australia, about 10 of them have shown up on the shores, mutilated and their tails cut off.

I heard that this morning, that the Australian authorities are asking people to stop taking revenge on the animals. Some people are just nuts.

That's sad, i mean, if they even knew about him enough to take revenge, they should have known him well enough to know he wouldn't have wanted that.

Very good point Red, I am sure his wife is not liking it too much either. Its a shame, a real shame.
