Default Veterans Day Thank You!

Americans live in freedom because of our veterans' courage, dedication to duty, and love of country. On Veterans Day, we honor these brave men and women who have served in our Armed Forces and defended our Nation.

THANK YOU!

Walking down a lonely road,
No one there but the enemy,
Looking around, nothing but dust and filth,
Loved ones so many miles away,
You strive to be the hero
Your mother always told you about
Like the ones in fairy tales or books.
Seeing so many die for the country they love,
Trying to bring peace to this war-torn land.
Your comrade, your friend crashes to the dirt.
You reach to give him a hand,
But you can’t, he’s already gone.
Another falls beside you.
He looks up at you with a smile.
“Be the hero we all know you are,” he says.
“Go on and fight for those who can’t.”
You run toward the foe, with anger in your heart.
Dodging bullets and brandishing your weapon.
When war is done, you return home.
You’re welcomed as a hero with a reception
For the incredible things you’ve done.
