Do you require drug testing for your employees?

I have heard more and more insurance companies are starting to require it before they insure your company.

What is your policy?

I see it more and more from the General Contractors. Nobody can work on the site unless they have a current test. There has been more and more alcohol testing too.

We haven't run into it yet, but our handbook lets all employees know we have a random drug testing policy. Failure to comply results in immediate termination.

On your radom test, do you also require them pre-employment?

We require new hire testing and we do testing in the case of an accident. I am instituting a random test policy as well.

At the last the last company I worked at that is the same policy we had, including the random policy.

If you have an ATF license for explosives, they require mandatory testing AND testing for drugs and alcohol everyday before setting foot on the jobsite.

This is slightly OT, but I just heard from a buddy of mine who is starting up a project in Mayasia.The Malaysian just started a program where they test everybody on that gets off the plane for drugs. If they are citizens and test positive they are locked up. If they are foreigners, they are sent back home.
