Default New Construction Safety Conference Debuts Next Month

The first Mid-Atlantic Conference on Construction Safety is being touted by the American Society of Safety Engineers as a window on "new technology and processes" for the safety managers who attend the May 4 event in Greenbelt, Md. It is sponsored by the National Capital Chapter of ASSE, Associated Builders and Contractors of Metro Washington and Virginia, Associated General Contractors of Metropolitan Washington, the D.C. Metropolitan Subcontractors Association, the Washington Metro Area Construction Safety Association, and the Chesapeake Region Safety Council.

Besides a pair of keynote speakers, breakout sessions are scheduled that will include F. Robb Altenburg, a Smithsonian Institution safety and occupational health specialist; Washington Metro Area Transit Authority Director of Loss Control Anthony Gilmour; Mike McCarroll, president of ProSafe Solutions; and James Brown, AGC of Indiana, Inc.'s director of safety and health.

To register, call 800-875-4770. The price is $150 per person until April 30 and $175 after that.
