I'm torn between the NDA show and ConExpo. I was at ConExpo in 2005 and it was great. Most of the guys that I have talked to are heading to ConExpo instead of NDA. Any thoughts?

Well, I love the Conexpo also! But right now it's better for me to attend the NDA. I think it all depends on what your intentions are. Are you looking to purchase equipment or just to network?

To me, networking = NDA, Purchasing/Looking at equipment = ConExpo

I might still go to the Conexpo, but that is still up in the air.

There is a heckuva lot more to see at ConExpo and it changes from year to year wheras if you have been to one NDA convention you have been to them all. It never changes.
There is a lot more exposure to potential clients at ConExpo unless you are a dedicated demolition subcontractor.

Thanks for the input, both of you have raised interesting points. First off I'd like to say that I'm trying to avoid the salesman stereotype. Yes I am using this forum for professional reasons but its for networking and increasing my own personal demo IQ. From what I have observed, the guys who are genuinely interested in being a part of the industry are the successful ones.. So back to what I want to get from either show. My interest right now is the southern states from Texas to CA. I've already got a pretty strong network with some of the big hitters out that way. So my goal for the show is networking with the smaller contractors, especially those in the southwest/west coast area. Maybe the NDA Conference will be best for this... I'll let you guys know when I've decided for sure.

Yea, please let us know.

I am still trying to get a informal meet together, I am looking at around 4:30 at a restaurant at the Mirage, since that is where the conference is being held. I figure do it early enough that no one misses any of the private late parties.

Finding a decent restaurant to meet in the mirage is kinda tough. The took out all the old places that were conducive to informal meetings and replaced them with a bunch of loud chi chi kind of places.

I saw that, I was looking at the website yesterday and seems like all the places where not really what I was looking for, although the wine and cheese bar looked like a pretty good place. But I am a wine drinker also.

I like the look of the place, I will call over there today and see what we can do about reservations and all that.
