Default Windows Vista or Xp or a Mac?

Well after running a MS Vista computer for about 6 months, I went back to XP. I was running into to many problems with Vista, and I know I am not the only one.

I had heard that Vista was buggy. An IT bud of mine explained that Vista runs using ALL of the available RAM; regardless of how much you have or add, it will allocate it for use. Apprently this make for slow operation.
I was wanting to get my daughter a laptop for Christmas and had gotten an email from Dell with some good deals, but they all come with Vista. I am thinkng about a Mac for her but they are more pricy right out of the gate.

It is buggy! I hated it. I certainty won't be going back to it anytime soon. Dell does have some great deals going on now, but I thought you can request to have XP put on them?

Yes, you can still get Dell and HP with XP - but you have to request and there may be a charge associated. We won't even push out Vista here at work because of all the issues. bag, bad program.

Yep, I just got a new catalog from Dell and they do offer XP still, doesn't look like it's a extra charge for it either.

My wife just started a new project for Disney that will last 8-10 years, and they are outfitting the new trailers, one thing they where asked is what kind of CPU's and operating systems they want is... Everyone in the office said at the same time NOT VISTA. The programs they run will not run on vista.

I have heard many complaints from that also, that most programs and a lot of printers won't work with Vista.

Also, be on they look out for Service Pack 3 for Windows XP in the next couple of weeks/months.

I just checked my AMEX points and I have almost enough to get a new Macbook. I might be joining the Mac crowd.

I broke my laptop the day before going overseas. I got a new Sony VIO to replace the broken one. It came with Vista.

I'm switching back to XP as soon as I can!
