Do you do background checks before you hire someone? What if the person you are about to hire does not have a social security number because s/he is an international student (but is legally allowed to work in the U.S)?
Would you still hire him/her without doing the background check?
I would still hire them. In this business how can you really get hurt?
We have to perform background checks because we are working on a nuclear site. Aside from the occassional DUI's and domestic violence the most common reason for being disqualified from getting a security clearance is bad credit.
