GPS Cell phones

Has anyone else activated the gps phone locate feature in your feild phones? I did awhile back and found it too stressful to have people tell you they were one place but were really some where else. I could only take it for about a week and had to tell everone that the gps was active and let the fact it was "known" do the job.

That is how I fired a saw cutter once, although it was a GPS system in his truck. We found out he was working on the weekends, using the truck and equipment for his own “profit”.

I am hearing and seeing this more and more. It seems to becoming an industry standard.

They can malfunction sometimes though, a buddy of mine who works for the county health department made an allowed for stop of 15 minutes at his house and the GPS apparently was not working correctly and logged him as being there for 31/2 hours. He was able to prove it wrong because of his log sheets with client signatures for the inpections he was doing.

We had one guy whose wife was driving his truck around. His truck was supposed to be parked at the airport.
