Default Returned checks/NSF clause

Hey guys. Does anyone have a good clause in their contract for returned checks? I had a very good customer check bounce on my account. So it made me think does anyone have a NSF clause in their contract? And if so what do you charge for returned checks?

I mean I know we all work for some larger contractors, so I know it’s not much of a problem there. What about homeowners or the small contractors?

I haven't had a bad check yet (knock wood), although I have had to chase down my money (my wife is the COO of a collections agency so I get to turn deadbeats over to her). NSF clause would be a good addition, though.

That is a nice arrangement, she still collect her fee?

I have re-written my contract to add that clause and a $25.00 NSF fee to it, plus any fees that are associated with my bank.

Hopefully a good lunch!

Anybody else thought about adding this to their contract?
