Default Ever just walk away?

Not from an on-going project. But from a project that your are bidding?

I am looking at this job right now and it looks like a great job. The plans are very well done, the contract language is good.

But my gut keeps telling me to walk away. Ever had that feeling?

Yes
But I still take the job and wish I hadn't.
It usually ends up being a nightmare of CO's and RFI's

The last time I had this feeling that is exactly what happened. The job went sideways, seemed like every other day you’re writing up RFIs. The owner went through 2 different contractors it was pure hell.

I have no problem with walking away from a potential job. Sometimes you just know it's not going to be profitable and you shouldn't get involved, there will be another job coming. I've taken my share of CO and RFI filled jobs but I don't like em.
I once completed a job, but ended up telling the client to keep his money because of conflicts during the project (it wasn't a large job and I had a bigger one next).

I think this one would be profitable, but like I said there is just something there that I can't put my finger on. I still have about another week before I have to do anything. So I am taking the weekend to think about it.

Your'e right, sometimes the profit comes with a little struggle. As they say, if it were easy everybody'd be doing it.

Thought I would do a follow-up on this project. Well after much debate I did walk away and apparently I was the only one. 2 others dropped out.
