Default Its good business to bad mouth your competition

I just have to gloat for a moment; we were awarded a job today around a $100k. Our bid and the nearest competitor were $2k apart. My competitor is at least a $6ml plus a year co and has a large profile in the Northwest. We are a $1.2 mil a year co and are relatively unheard of. So the GC interviewed us both, and decided to go with us because the other co was very arrogant and had no problem telling the GC what a piece of crap we are. So yes bad mouthing is good business if you are on the receiving end. If buy chance the guys over at ANOTHERCON read this, THANK YOU!!!

First off congrats on being awarded the project. Sounds like a nice size (dollar wise) for you size company.

It always seems like there is 1 or 2 competitors that are arrogant and like to bash the competition. I always turn it around to what I can provide the client instead of bashing back. We are also a small company and we always use “We can provide you a better personalized service than X” Most of the general contractors know whom the arrogant (demolition) contractors are.

I have to laugh at this one. I am only laughing because I know who the "anothercon" is. I think it would be best to refrain from making any further comments, except any job that one of are members get is another one for the good guys.

But, I do agree that when Demolition contractors make comments about other competition, I think they are only hurting themselves.

Sounds like a good job and congratulations.

My first job out of college was working for IBM. It was against corporate policy and a fireable offense if during a sales call you'd mention a competitors name much less in a disparaging manner.
