we have a 75$ drop fee then a set price up to 5 ton then anything over 5 ton we charge $ 65 a ton

In connecticut we pay:
$275 up to 15 ton and $12 per ton over for concrete

A company that I worked for charged $125.00 for drop off and pick up and then $2.00-$3.00 a day for the can rental and then I thinks it's around 75.00-85.00 a ton.

For those who charge a set amount for up to "x" amount of tons, do you find many that go over that set amount? Even though you are charging more for those tons?

The reason I am asking is because their is a company that charges a flat rate up to 7 tons, I don't know that may times that I have had a hand loaded can over 7 tons and when it evens out it's just about the same in price that everyone else charges, but people think they are getting a great deal, when they are actually getting a gouged.

LImant & Demopro the guys can't be making $ with fuel a $370 a gallon at those prices ! most have 10yd 2tons 20yd 3tons 30yd 5tons pay xtra for over weight!

Am i in the right county? Where i am its $200 to drop the container and $85.00 a ton!

Maybe im gettin a great deal, but i have to imagine that because we have some very large concrete plants in the state they crush all of the concrete and use it for aggregate keeping the disposal costs way down.

Diesel is between $3.89 and $4 now and you're right its hard to keep the existing rates. No one wants to be the first to raise them.

We drop our concrete at a recycler... they charge $6 a yard so we make money with that. C&D gets a little pricey we only make $25 a ton now plus the container drop off/daily.

LImant I don't know how you can put a truck on the road pay driver, insurance & fuel to only make $25 a ton on C&D! Do you guys have to have a hauling license ? Are you dumping C&D in dumps or transfer stations? If you're running a truck for 8hrs the min fuel burned is $200.00 a day+ $225.00 for driver bennies & insurance + dumping fees! I know nobody likes to be the 1st to raise the rates but if you don't you be out of biz.
