Default Does anyone use square footage prices?

I was just curious if anyone out there uses a square footage price for ceiling demo and flooring demo? I tend to use man days but would like to reference that number against something like a per square foot price. It would be for drop ceilings and either carpet or VCT flooring.

We use square footage prices, but it depends on the job and the materials that we are tearing out.

I used to use a lot of square footage prices, but it was all converted into bf and weight on another page.

I'll use square footage to give myself a general idea of cost, but the client gets a price based on as detailed a take off as possible.

Demobud, can you give an example? I usually figure the labor, equipment, and disposal, then figure a profit and some oh shit money.
