Hi everyone. I am wondering if someone can either point me in the right direction or if you can help me in my problem I’d be much obliged.

To briefly explain - I am a fiction writer (specifically thriller and horror) and currently I am writing a spec novel that involves the destruction (implosion?) of a desolate inner city project (10-15 stories high). One of the characters is a retired blaster who has agreed to help the main character find his kidnapped sister in an abandoned part of town. The place is empty (an urban ghost-town if you will) but from this one building the “creatures” my novel are breeding and so they must destroy the building to bring an end to the creatures.

Ok…(if you’re still with me thank you for your patience) here’s my question. I need to work out how a person or persons would do this in a credible yet not too factual sort of way. A friend suggested having them drill small holes into the concrete supports on the lower levels and stuffing them with conventional dynamite.

It doesn’t have to be scientific fact, just as long as it seems possible to readers who wouldn’t necessarily know whether it could or could not be done in reality.
