Bruce,
We have also worked very hard to keep our mod down. We have a zero tolerance for anyone working without the proper PPE's. It is a daily (sometimes hourly) battle with our workers. I have in the past had to terminate employees for continuos disregard for their own safety. However, I can't stress how important it is to have an insurance agent who knows the industry, knows you and your company practices . We have developed a personal relationship with our agent who will take the time to develop policies that will not only be inexpensive, but ensure proper coverage. He is young and agressive. You can also save by making sure your employees are in the proper classification ie; a truck driver or operator should be classified differently than a laborer. It may take a little time at the paperwork end, but the savings can be tremendous. We currently have a mod of .86. We are located in Massachusetts. Good Luck
