NY STATE ASBESTOS PROJECT MONITOR
& AIR SAMPLING TECHNICIAN
In search of NY State Certified (ICR-56) Project Monitors with Air Sampling Technician Certifications for work on a Large Scale Decommissioning Project located in the Lower Hudson Valley of New York State (just outside New York City).
The project is starting immediately and is scheduled to end in September 2009.
WORK DESCRIPTION
Work will include full time onsite Air Sampling Collection of Environmental/Area Air Sampling in accordance with NYS-ICR-56 Guidelines, OSHA & EPA Environmental Air Quality Standards.
Additional air sampling capabilities for collecting samples or dust, lead, silica, heavy metals, VOCs and other environmental contaminants would be useful.
Able to perform Project Monitoring Final Visual Inspections in Accordance with ASTM # E-1368 on Boilers, Piping, Equipment and elevated working heights to 250 above grade.
Work will be full time onsite with hours between 40 to 60 hours per week. Overtime will be paid over 40 hours per week.
Work shifts between May through December 2008 will be on second and third shifts due to around the clock operations. Work may be performed on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
Looking to hire Project Monitors and Air Technicians for a six month duration from May through December 2008 with possible continuation through to September 2009.
Must be able to lay out Sampling Plans, follow directions, and perform all functions associated with pump calibrations, repairs, maintenance and diagnostic programs.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication and computer skills a must. Will be required to interface between Owners Industrial Hygiene Staff, Environmental Consultants and Contractors performing the work.
Must be physically fit and able to carry up to 50 pounds while traversing uneven ground surfaces and activities normally found in rural settings and on demolition/environmental projects.
Wages will be between $15.00 to $30.00 per hour depending on capabilities, skill sets, experience, existing certifications already held, and living accommodations. Preference is to hire regional personnel local to the regional area.
