Is there anyplace on this forum, or elsewhere on the web, where I might find out more than a couple of days in advance of the implosion of a structure? I've never seen one and badly want to. I live in Kentucky, so most of the real eye-popping implosion sites are far enough away I'd have to make travel plans at least a week in advance. I'd also want to take at least two of my kids, which means flying would be costly without knowing a month or so ahead. (From what I've gathered browsing this forum, it looks like they don't announce the actual date more than a few days in advance anyway.)
Hello, I'm also new to the forum. My interest is implosions, as I'm an amateur photographer. Our camera club submits framed photos at our Print Show at the end of the year, and it's my hope to have a great implosion shot. I'll be keeping my eye out for these in 2008. I live in Kentucky, but can go a reasonable distance in some of the surrounding states for a photo op! Thanks!
There is a big implosion coming out in a week or so for bid in Tennesse. It has to be abated and prepared so realistically it will be imploded sometime in Spring '08. That's not too far from you.
My brothers & I were debating whether the 9-hour drive to Savannah was worth it, answer would be "no" if there's something in the spring a lot closer to us (especially if it was far enough up in the spring to squeeze in a couple of rounds of golf...)
still looking...
no more info about a building in Tennessee. Search of newspapers in Memphis, Nashville, Knoxville results in article about someone tearing down a Quonset hut. Any further word on this that you can share? Updates or clues?
nothing on phillyblast.com nor implosionsareablast.com
I'd hate to miss something within a reasonable day's drive (with screaming kids). Keep us posted!
