Default Cofferdam Demolition

I sure hope these guys know about "Dead Pressing".

For the life of me I don't know why when temporary structures are built they don't have the forethought of demolition in mind. It would have been really easy to preinstall PVC pipes when they poured this thing. Then they wouldn't have to drill and could load the explosives directly into the pipes.

I received an e-mail from my buddy in China. Evidently, this is the 2nd cofferdam to be blasted. He said that on this phase of the project they have over 100 75+ ton excavators.

It sure would be nice if they did. But you know, architects and engineers never think of things like that until us demo guys bring it up.

Do you know who is doing the blast?

I will find out their name. They ae the same guys that imploded 3 cities in Wanzhou. Since 2002 they have probably blasted about 1,000 structures. They did 30 buildings in one shot last year.

192 tons of explosives "The World's Toughest Demolition Job"?? Not with 192 tons of explosives it's not!

This might be worth a road trip. I've got to be over in that part of the world anyway.

They are setting up the seismographs. I wonder what kind of readings they will get with 192 tons going off in 1700 holes?
