Default Third time not a charm: Bridge demolition delayed again

At this point, the Pomeroy Mason Bridge has cheated “death” at least three times in the last week thanks to weather and river conditions delaying the detonation of explosives meant to bring down its center span.

Though the Ohio Department of Transportation had rescheduled the detonation for tomorrow morning, on Friday ODOT announced Monday’s event had been canceled due to a chance of rain. There must be a 2,000 ceiling on a clear day to prevent afterschock effects.

With The Weather Channel predicting a 40 percent chance of showers through Wednesday, ODOT seemed cautious about pinpointing another detonation date. On Friday, ODOT District 10 spokesperson David Rose said the bridge demolition has been tentatively scheduled for some time this week and that media outlets will be notified at least 24 hours before demolition.
