Default 755 Ft. Tall Chimney Imploded

in Castrop- Rauxel Germany yesterday. The AP is touting it as the largest chimney in Europe but there are a couple of taller ones in Slovenia and Portugal. It isn't the largest to be imploded in Europe either. There have been 2 taller, the one at Moorburg (840') and Westervolt (1,106')
All the articles are in German, so I am not going to post a link. I will try and post the video.
I was always under the assumption (incorrect) that reinforced concrete chimneys couldn't be brought straight down. This one sure was.

They lowered just enough for their crane to reach it!

They lowered it about 690' but if you look at the one slide it is still a formidable chunk of concrete to deal with.

There is a 1000 footer being demolished next month
