St. Bernard Housing Development Demolition Begins
Demolition crews started tearing down the St. Bernard Housing Development.
It's the latest demolition of the "Big Four" housing developments in New Orleans. Last month, demolition began on the B.W. Cooper and C.J. Peete complexes.
The Lafitte Housing Development is also on the list to come down. But, city officials sent a letter to HUD Secretary Alphonso Jackson about two weeks ago detailing additional information and assurances before the demolition of the Lafitte Development could be approved.
