Vietnam project faces demolition
The Vietnamese authorities may be about to demolish a villa project in Da Lat after it emerged that the developers responsible broke a number of planning rules.
Adfero reported that Minh Trung Joint Stock Company, based in Ho Chi Minh City, broke ground on the VND100 billion (US$6 million) Rose Gargen Villa Village project without a license and before land use payments were submitted.
The company is also alleged to have built 12 blocks of villas on an area larger than the allocated plot as well as further buildings without any planning permission. In February of last year, the regional People´s Committee forced the company to suspend construction and ordered that the land site be restored to its condition prior to construction. However, the company failed to comply with the order.
