Major Demolition Underway On Sunroad Tower

Major demolition on the controversial Sunroad Enterprise office tower is now underway.

The 180-foot tall building, which stands near Montgomery Field in Kearny Mesa, is being lowered to meet federal aviation height limits.

The FAA says as it stands, the building is a hindrance to pilots landing in bad weather at the nearby airport.

Sunroad plans to slice through the tower and remove a floor to reduce its height by 20 feet.
