There's new information about the future of the Stardust today. Boyd Gaming plans to develop a $4 billion resort on the 63 acre site of the Stardust.
The 5,300 room resort and casino will be called Echelon Place. It will include a convention center and retail stores and is scheduled to open in early 2010.
Executives say the Stardust will operate through most of 2006 and be demolished in early 2007, when construction on Echelon Place will start.
Looks like another possible implosion for the year of 2006
So what are we up to now for 2006? 6 casinos are going to be demolished.
It looks like Miami and Las Vegas are going to be the hot markets with a mystery city coming in a close third.
