Warwick Fights for Demolition of Old Amusement Park
Warwick city officials want an abandoned amusement park demolished.
The city has taken its fight to federal court, saying the buildings in the old Rocky Point amusement park need to come down because of safety reasons.
The city also says the park has been used for cult gatherings and satanic rituals.
One of the park's largest buildings was destroyed by a fire in October.
The US Small Business Administration has also asked a federal judge to order a developer to pay for demolition of the remaining buildings.
Warwick City Solicitor John Earle says he doesn't care who pays for the demolition; he just wants to make sure the area is safe as soon as possible.
