New Orleans warns of demolition scam
People posing as city agents have been contacting New Orleans homeowners and fraudulently requesting payment for voluntary demolition of houses, City Attorney Penya Moses-Fields has warned.
All residents should be aware that city employees or agents will not request payment for voluntary demolitions, Moses-Fields said.
She promised a "full investigation" of the scheme.
