INSIDE THE INDUSTRY - OCTOBER 09

    BY HERB DUANE

THE OCTOBER ARTICLE HAS A LOT OF GOOD INFORMATION PLENTY OF JOB LEADS ALSO SOME INTERESTING NEWS OF THE INDUSTRY THAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT.

ONE WAY I USE THE INFORMATION ESPECIALLY JOB LEADS IS TO CONTACT THE PEOPLE THAT ARE GIVING THE WORK OUT.

THIS WAY YOU CAN KEEP INVOLVED WITH THE PROJECT AND GET ON FUTURE BID LISTS OR GET ON THE BID LIST FOR THAT JOB WHEN IT COMES OUT FOR BID.

AN EXAMPLE ON HOW IT WORKS FOR ME IS THIS PAST MONTH I CONTACTED A PERSON INVOLVED IN A HOSPITAL PROJECT I HAD IN THE LAST COLUMN. SENT THEM MY CONSULTING INFORMATION AND TOLD THEM WHAT I THOUGHT I COULD DO FOR THEM AS A DEMOLITION CONSULTANT A COUPLE OF DAYS AFTER I SENT THEM AN E-MAIL THEY CONTACTED ME AND I'VE NOW BEEN RETAINED TO HELP THEM PUT OUT A LARGE DEMOLITION PROJECT.

THIS CAN WORK FOR YOU. IT PROBABLY WON'T WORK EVERY MONTH. IF IT WORKS TWO OR THREE TIMES A YEAR, YOU'RE WAY A HEAD OF YOUR SUBSCRIPTION INVESTMENT.

TRY IT FOR A YEAR. ALL YOU CAN LOSE IS A COUPLE OF HUNDRED DOLLARS. YOU GIVE OUT MORE THAN THAT FOR MEAL TIPS IN A YEAR.

THE OTHER PLUS IS YOUR GOING TO GET SOME GOOD NEWS AS TO WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE DEMOLITION INDUSTRY.
