The wrecking ball kind of looks like a cannon ball and fuse. How about a shear or a UP? I know the wrecking ball is the age old symbol of our industry, but maybe it's time for a change?

Okay, I have our designer working on the new wrecking ball.

One of the reasons we changed it is that the excavator was a little too cartoonish and we wanted a fresh update and we looked over about 20 different logos and we keep coming back to this one.

Yes the wrecking ball is “outdated” but besides implosions, what is the most common thing when people hear the word “demolition”?

The wrecking ball is definitely the symbol of the demolition industry. Put a big crack in the wall and show bricks tumbling down too.

The problem here is that you want a horizontal logo for the words demolitionforum.com, but the image of a wrecking ball smacking into a wall, and bricks tumbling down, is a vertical image.

Something for your designers to noodle over.

I agree with rdz...a positive way to depict the upward technology in our industry is not the wrecking ball. We have graduated in the attachment evolution. I am thankful you didn't show a sledge hammer and crowbar!

Kinda looks like a bomb from Mario Bros, right?

Cool. I always thought a pair shape was the norm anyway.

At least, for those not in the industry.
