Around here, Road diesel is $4.54 down the street and I have seen as high as $4.65.

I think that is all you can do, is add a fuel surcharge. I like what the City of Seattle has done around for the taxi companies and it may be good to do the same for your own company and let the vendors know.

The city has built into the contract with the taxi companies, that when gas prices hits a certain average they can add a surcharge fee, then if fuel hits another average, it increases again and again.

This will let your vendors know that for every, say like for every .50 or whatever the surcharge will be X amount.
